The Polite Pig

The Polite Pig was created for one of my favorite client chef teams, Julie & James Petrakis (owner’s also of The Ravenous Pig, and both Cask & Larder locations). Because the establishment was created for Disney, theming was the name of the game. From the cast bronze ‘pig tracks’ in the floor that lead from the Entry out onto the Patio to the weathered interior brick walls that showcase a fictitious but long forgotten farmer’s market, The Polite Pig is a project full of character. Lots of black iron details were used specifically showcasing the smoker room near the restaurant’s entry, the overhead bar, and the dramatic interior staircase. Custom decorative cement tiles were utilized to add flair to not only the back counter beverage wall, but in the creation of the bar face that most definitely makes a statement. Vibrant hues of turquoise and bright red are featured throughout the space, while touches of weathered wood and worn paint remind guests of days gone by. Theatrical lighting elements as well as custom door pulls and pig-featured art throughout, bring together the finishing touches of this creative venue.
