He started his new job as the executive chef for the oceanfront resort on Thursday. In fact, Trudnak hasn\u2019t even decided yet what he\u2019s going do with the menu for the property\u2019s main restaurant, though he said he expects the cuisine will reflect the diversity of his kitchen staff.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel, which has been open a year and a half, is the only hotel with walkup access from the beach, according to Trudnak.<\/p>\n<p>As I told you recently in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scottjosephorlando.com\/newsy-nuggets-3-27-23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not-very-blind item<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 seriously, you could have figured it out if I\u2019d written it in Farsi (instead of my usual farcey) \u2013\u00a0Harry Buffalo\u00a0is closing. It was originally expected to close at the end of March but apparently got an extension. Its last day will be Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>With that closing, all of the restaurant spaces in Church Street Station on that side of street, including those that were recently held by\u00a0Ceviche\u00a0and\u00a0H\u00e4os, will be vacant. That\u2019s the design, is seems. The property owner has a plan for the building. What is it? He\u2019s not talking.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve counted on Harry Buffalo for your downtown lunches, you may find a replacement soon at City Hall. The owner of\u00a0Bem Bom\u00a0in Audubon Park is taking over the space that was recently an outpost of 4 Rivers Smokehouse and will open\u00a0City Beautiful Cafe, serving breakfast and lunch only. It will not have a Portuguese menu like Bem Bom but rather will have burgers, sandwiches and such.\u00a0Ryan Lynch\u00a0of Orlando Business Journal first reported on the new cafe.<\/p>\n<p>The owners of\u00a0Ravenous Pig\u00a0want to make that Winter Park restaurant look like new. It will undergo a renovation with a redesign by\u00a0Anna Woodman Interior Design\u00a0of South Florida. The same firm did the original Rav Pig (where\u00a0Reel Fish Coastal Kitchen\u00a0is now) and\u00a0Cask &amp; Larder\u00a0(where Ravenous Pig is now) as well as others in the line of properties owned by\u00a0James\u00a0and\u00a0Julie Petrakis. According to James Petrakis, the renovations will be done in phases so that the restaurant can remain open.<\/p>\n<p>Belgian beverage police recently destroyed thousands of cans of\u00a0Miller High Life\u00a0beer, and not because they\u2019d tasted it. They were offended by the beer\u2019s slogan \u2013 the Champagne of Beers \u2013 and decided to crush the cans before anyone confused the beer with sparkling wine.<\/p>\n<p>France, and by extension the European Union, fiercely protects the Champagne designation. Only sparkling wines produced in the Champagne regions \u2013 and only those made using the methode champenoise \u2013 may have Champagne on the label.<\/p>\n<p>Miller High Life does not use the methode champenoise and is not produced in France. Also, it\u2019s a beer.<\/p>\n<p>Miller has been using the slogan for more than a hundred years \u2013 it was originally the Champagne of Bottled Beers because it was produced in clear bottles and looked sparkling. But for some reason, no one in France or the European Union has noticed until .<\/p>\n<p>Which begs the question: What Belgian ordered a delivery of 2,352 cans of Miller High Life in the first place?
